Scholarship Benefits
The Human Rights Scholarship fully supports award winners with the following:
- Living Allowance: AUD $43,500 a year (pro rata for part-time), indexed each year
- Tuition Fee Offset: Master’s – not more than 2 years, not more than 4 years for Doctorate
- Relocation Grant: AUD $2,000 for students moving interstate and AUD $3,000 for international students
- Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC): Single membership for international students requiring a student visa

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Meet the admission criteria for a Master or Doctorate by research from the University of Melbourne
- Get ready to undertake graduate studies particularly in human rights
- Demonstrate a passion for human rights activism beyond academic work, for instance, through work experience or volunteering
- Not already hold a research qualification of the same or higher standard to a course for which a scholarship is being sought.
- Not to have previously received a graduate research scholarship from the University
