About the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP)
The JJ/WBGSP Scholarship is a global financial institution committed to reducing poverty and promoting sustainable economic growth in developing nations. The JJ/WBGSP was created to nurture international talent by fully funding master’s programs in key development-related areas.
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible for the JJ/WBGSP Scholarship 2025 Application, applicants must:
- Hold citizenship in a World Bank member developing country (as per the official list).
- Not have dual citizenship of any developed nation.
- Be in good health.
- Have earned a bachelor’s degree at least three years before applying.
- Have at least three years of full-time, paid, development-related work experience within the past six years.
- Be employed full-time in a development-related position at the time of application.
- Have received unconditional admission (excluding financial aid) to one of the 41 JJ/WBGSP participating master’s programs outside their home country.
- Not be an Executive Director, alternate, or staff member of the World Bank Group, nor a close relative of any such individual.
- Not have previously received a JJ/WBGSP Scholarship without completing the program.
Scholarship Benefits
Selected scholars will receive: ✅ Full tuition coverage for their master’s degree. ✅ Free Round-trip economy airfare between their home country and host university. ✅ A US $600 travel allowance per trip. ✅ Medical insurance through the host institution. ✅ A monthly stipend covering accommodation, food, and books (amount varies by country). ✅ Scholarship support for up to two years covering the entire duration of the master’s program .
